DRG (German State Railroad Company) Compartment Car, 3rd/4th Class

Compartment cars were once very widely used. They were used on the railroad as well as on streetcar and municipal railroads. This prototypically painted and lettered LGB model is a reproduction of a car for 3rd/4th class. All of the doors on the model can be opened and allow you to see the detailed compartments done up in prototypical colors. The compartments are lettered with both the car class and of course with "Raucher" ("Smoker") or "Nichtraucher" ("Non-Smoker") signs as they were at the time in real life. Length over the buffers 30 cm / 11-13/16".

The so-called "steel cars" were a familiar sight on RhB express trains for many years. By making a tooling change to the mold, we are able to offer a 2nd class car for the first time in the typical Era III green paint scheme. The windows have been changed on the model to match that of the prototype. Length over the buffers 66 cm / 26".
